A note from the desk of Merevaik Grupp OÜ

Things worth keeping, kept well.

Merevaik is the Estonian word for amber[1] — resin that decided, some forty million years ago, that the best response to time was patience. It washed up on Baltic shores long before anyone thought to price it.

We buy software companies. Not shares in them, not stakes alongside a syndicate — the whole thing.[2] And then we run them: same product, same customers, same quiet insistence that the invoices go out on time. Bought without hurry, operated with care, and never resold to the highest spreadsheet. There is no fund. There is no newsletter, and we will not be disrupting anything.

If you were hoping for a pitch deck, we apologise for the inconvenience. If you run a small, profitable software business and are contemplating a quiet, permanent home for it — we should correspond.

Buy slowly

The Baltic Sea took epochs to polish its amber. We see no reason to rush a portfolio — or an acquisition.

Run properly

We operate what we own — ship the fixes, answer the customers, keep the servers humming. Most of the return arrives from simply running a good business well.

Keep tidy books

Estonia runs on clean digital records, and so do we. Every kroon accounted for — well, euro. Old habits.[3]

Correspondence

We read everything sent to us, reply to most of it, and answer quickest when the matter is genuinely interesting — particularly if you run a profitable software business and want a permanent owner who will actually operate it, not flip it.
